Hill District Research Report
3rc, in partnership with Dewey & Kaye, recently completed a community profile analysis for development activity in Pittsburgh’s Hill District. The team was primarily tasked with answering three specific questions to help the Hill District’s community stakeholders clearly understand the extent and nature of the development activities taking place today and those that are proposed for the near future:
1. What investments are currently being made in the Hill District?
2. Which organizations are driving these investments?
3. What is the nature and purpose of these investments?
As the process unfolded it became clear that not only were development activities critically important, but also understanding the underlying fabric of the community, such as demographic characteristics, availability and locations of human and social service programs, and other assets in the community, were essential to informing a comprehensive understanding of the vibrancy of the Hill District.
The result is presented in the report, appendices, and accompanying summary presentation provided below:
